Teaching Methods

Play-based Learning
The students were encouraged to use loose parts and toys inside the classroom to aid their learning process. Some of the activities were also crafted to function like a game for the kids to enjoy.
Hands-on Approach
Activities like counting colored pebbles, manipulating clay to resemble letters, and coloring books were used to create a more engaging and interactive tool to develop the children’s problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Storytelling (Puppetry)
Teachers will create stories and use puppets to help illustrate.
Center/Station Work
Each classroom will have 3-4 stations in which students can choose which activities they answer or finish first.
Song and Rhymes
Teachers use songs to get the students attention and give instructions.
Multimedia
Teachers use the television to present short videos or clips regarding the topic.

Sources of Learning and Technology

Upon interviewing the teachers, aside from planning the curriculum ahead and making sure that all of their syllabus is aligned with their learning goals, they also get inspiration from pinterest activities. They try to innovate it to fit the Indonesian context. For the funding of such resources, it has been set aside as part of the student’s tuition fee.


Authentic Assessment

Teachers sometimes perform one-on-one reading exercises with students. They have a book filled with reading exercises that they will read in front of the teacher. The principal, Ms. Ruhayu has prepared specific workbooks that are consistently answered by the students. Some subjects include Writing, Religion, English, and Mathematics.
